Uribe's public safety politics improves foreign investment: Yomiuri Daly News In Japan

The Democratic Security policy implemented by the government of President Alvaro Uribe Vélez, has had an impact on the fast increase in foreign investment, expressed Yomiuri Journal in its edition of today, Tuesday October 28th, 2008.

The Japanese newspaper notes that the amount of direct investment in 2007 grew four times the quantities in the past five years, which has drawn attention to the Japanese companies which have taken a prudent attitude.
It adds that the amount of direct international investment in Colombia in 2007 has increased by 9 billions compared with $ 2.1 billions in 2002, according to experts this figure increased by approximately $ 11 billions this year and the development of resources minerals such as coal, oil will be over one sixth of the total amount.
The article emphasizes that the causes of this growing investment is the improvement of public security in the country where kidnappings and murders have dropped significantly and this has also improved the image of Colombia abroad.
